FULSHEAR, TEXAS (April 26, 2018): The long-awaited Fulshear Livable Center study will be kicking off on May 9, with an Advisory Group* meeting scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at the Fulshear-Simonton Branch Library. The public is welcome to attend the meeting which will consist of a presentation/discussion to the Advisory Group from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. followed by an informal time for general input/discussion until 12 noon. The Fulshear Livable Center study is focused on Fulshear’s downtown and surrounding areas. It is part of a larger Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) Livable Centers initiative, and is designed to capitalize on Fulshear’s existing assets in a plan that links the goals of the Livable Centers Program (walkable, compact/mixed-use, connected and accessible places) with the City’s vision and goals to create specific recommendations toward sustainable development and redevelopment while enhancing the ‘return on investment’ for the City. The City is a partner with H-GAC in the project which is being managed by consultant, Freese and Nichols.
Public input is vital to the process and will be provided for throughout the project in varied ways. A full project website will be available for interested parties in the coming weeks for people to learn more about the project, follow progress, provide input, and access additional project details/information. There will also be future public meetings where people can offer their input – please stay tuned for updates!
